NORDIC Music Tech initiative was launched on Monday, 4 Sept 2017, during STHLM Tech Fest in Stockholm. This initiative is a collaboration between STHLM Music City, Music Norway and Slush Music to elevate Nordic Mus/Tech in long-term.

We feel that early stage startups lack a deep understanding of the music industry and collaboration with artists and rights-holders. At the same time, there are investors who are interested in the sector but don’t know how to invest in it – or with who to do it. Furthermore, the investors need knowledge on how to recognize potential startups from the ones crashing in various industry-specific issues. Labels, artists, and other music industry professionals are keen to join the innovative ideas around music, but the landscape is not familiar and they don’t have a clear entry point.

Our aim is to educate, showcase and network Nordic Mus/Tech startups with investors and the music industry – and create a Nordic portfolio of the most potential startups in the region.

We work through a set of intimate workshops, which entail entrepreneurial stories from successful founders, discussions on the problems that tech could (and should) solve in the music industry and learn what’s interesting for the investors. On our pilot year, one startup from each country will be showcased on the stage of Slush Music November 28-29.

Nordic Music Tech is funded by Rising North.
